fashion icon Vidal Sassoon dead at 84

Due to the popularity of his styles, he was described as "a rock
star, an artist, [and] a craftsman who 'changed the world with a pair
of scissors.'"
Vidal shaped the hair business as we know it today, including the respect
the profession can command, the artistry that can be expressed and the
success that is possible - despite the celebrity, the travel, the fame
and the fortune, for Vidal, it's always been about the hair (Behindthechair
Magazine).
Vidal died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 of leukemia at his home in Bel Air,
Los Angeles, California.
